  • Member Steve Trimble has a new book out

After ten years of fieldwork, research, and writing, Stephen Trimble will launch Bargaining for Eden: The Fight for the Last Open Spaces in America in his hometown.

He will tell stories, show slides that bring to life the scenes and characters, read excerpts, and sign the freshly-published first edition. Steve is convinced this is his best work (don't writers always think that of their latest?).

Join him for this celebratory event--or listen to the live broadcast on KCPW, 88.3 FM or www.kcpw.org . (Co-sponsored by The King's English bookshop, the Salt Lake City Library, KCPW, and the Wallace Stegner Center at the University of Utah Law School.

    WHEN: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 10th.
WHERE: Salt Lake City Downtown Library auditorium (210 East 400 South)

  • Volunteer Theresa A. Husarik has a new book out

A compilation of 30 trips, covering every corner of this beautifully diverse state, this book gives the reader a bit of the history of the area as well as pictures to entice you to get in your car and go for a ride to see for yourself.

  • Congrats to member Wayne Gillman!!!
    • As of February 1, 2007 there is now on permanent display at the Coffee Garden (9th South 9th East Salt Lake City), a photo essay relating to Fair Trade Coffee. It includes images Wayne made, mainly in the mountains of northern Nicaragua, in Matagalpa, which illustrate the path of coffee from grove to cup.

    • He was among a select few whose submitted images were selected as "Honorable Mention" in the Black and White Spider Awards. You can view his image (and his name) on the page for nominees in the Silhouette, Professional category.

    Way to Go Wayne!!
